Socal Smackdown Warhammer 40K Indy GT
This event will run as a standard Swiss Style event with 3 rounds, each round will be 2 hours 30 minutes long. We have removed the best overall prize from this event to allow the players to compete for the prize they so choose, or multiples if that is what they want.

The prizes will consist of a first and second place Best Gamer as well as a first and second place Best Hobbyist. Both prizes are available to win for a single individual if that individual truly shows to be worthy of such a prize.

The prize for Best Gamer will take into account your ability/inability as a gamer to keep the game enjoyable for both yourself and your opponent as well as your ability to claim objectives. The best hobbyist will be awarded to the person/persons who the attendees at the event deem has the best looking army.

We feel that when you build an army to take to a tournament, you are not building/painting it to look amazing for the judges. You are putting all that work in to look good for you and your opponents. So we feel it should be your opponents that determine your appearance scores.

Warhammer 40K Rules
Any Warhammer 40K events will be using the 7th edition rules set as well as 7th edition missions. Standard Games Workshop FAQ's will apply.

  • Special characters are allowed.
  • The games will be 1850 points and allow only a single detachment.
  • GW models are not required for the event, but if a “counts as” model/list is being used it must be clear on the models what they are representing.
  • Forgeworld rules will not be allowed in the event, although you may still used forgeworld models to represent 40K units in your list.

Warhammer Fantasy Team Tournament Rules
Any Warhammer Fantasy events will be using the 8th edition rules set and non-standard missions for the scenarios and objectives. Note: Rules subject to change when 9th Edition book is released.

  • The games will be 2400 points and follow all army restrictions that points value includes.
  • Special Characters will be allowed, BUT only special characters that are in 8th edition army books will be allowed in the tournament. As the characters in the 8th edition army books were designed to be played with the 8th edition rules set it will limit the amount of Teclicheese experienced throughout the event.
  • GW models are not required for the event, but if a “counts as” model/list is being used it must be clear on the models what they are representing.
  • Forgeworld rules will not be allowed with the exception of the Chaos Dwarf army list from the Tamurkhan.
